More to come....

I still have to post our first two destinations but it is getting late and it takes so long to upload photos.

Home of Columbus - Genoa, Italy

We went to Genoa mostly because my Mom has an ancestor from there. It actually turned out to be a very nice stop after Paris because we were all pretty tired. Genoa isn't quite so touristy as our other destinations so we went to the Genoa Aquarium, had lunch and dinner down on the Pier, and just walked around the city. We probably had the best pizza of the trip in Genoa and if you ever go to Italy pepperoni is a vegetable so if you "American pepperoni" ask for salami on your pizza instead.

Pisa, Pisa, and more Pisa

We stopped for one day and one night in Pisa, Italy. Our hotel was literally a stones throw from the Leaning Tower and the rest of the "Square of Miracles." We went all the way to the top of the Leaning Tower and it was a bit akward walking up it in parts because of it being so well, leaning. One moment I was walking up and the next I felt like I was walking down even though I was still continuing up. We also did a little other sightseeing in Pisa and enjoyed some gelatto and spaghetti.

Vatican City

The second day we went to the Vatican and took an awesome tour of the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, and St. Peter's square. We all really enjoyed the tour because otherwise we would not have known what we were looking at.

When in Rome...

We got as much as we could into two days of Rome. The first day we spent going to the Colessum, the Constantine Arch, the Palantine Hill, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, and the Spanish Steps.

Austria

Well, I will have to put pictures in when I get some from my parents. Our camera's battery died right after we left the hotel to go to the Schonbrunn palace. The Schonbrunn palace was the summer home for the Hapsburg royal family. It was an enormous palace and had many attractions including a tour of the palace, an apple struddel making demonstration (including a sample), a garden maze, amazing gardens, a gloriette overlooking the grounds, and many other statues and fountains. For our one day stop in Vienna it was a great place to visit.
